Our Story
Made to be lived with
Velvara is a home goods store built around one idea: a home is made slowly, from things you actually touch every day.
We would rather carry forty things we can vouch for than four hundred we cannot.
Where we started
Velvara began with a small frustration: so much of what fills a home is bought quickly, used briefly, and forgotten. Trend-led, thinly made, replaced within a year. We wanted the opposite — a short, considered range of textiles, tabletop, lighting, storage and decor chosen for how they feel in the hand and how they hold up over time.
So that's what Velvara is. Not a marketplace of everything, but a small collection of pieces we're happy to stand behind, added to slowly and deliberately.
We start with the material
Every piece begins with how something feels and how it ages. Stonewashed linen that softens with each wash instead of wearing out. Stoneware with a little weight to it. Wood that takes on a patina rather than a scratch. Brass that darkens into character. These are materials that get better with use, not worse — and that single idea shapes everything we choose to sell.
What we believe
Small range, on purpose
A tight edit we can vouch for, restocked slowly, rather than endless choice.
Material first
We choose pieces for how they feel and how they age, not for how they photograph.
Everyday, not on display
Things made to be used daily — not saved for guests or kept behind glass.
