Velvara is the online shop of VELVARA LIMITED, a company registered in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Here you can see which personal details pass through the shop, the reasons we hold them, and what you are entitled to ask of us.
1. What We Collect
We keep the list short and take only what an order or a conversation requires.
- When you order: name, email address, phone number if you give one, delivery address, and a billing address where it is different. You type card details at checkout, and they are forwarded for authorisation as Section 4 explains.
- When you contact us: whatever you put into the contact or cancellation form or an email, usually your name, email, order number and message.
- When a page loads: the standard technical record every web server sees, meaning IP address, browser type, the address requested and the time. No analytics or advertising tags run on this site.
There are no customer accounts, so there are no passwords to hold.
2. What We Use It For
Your details let us take payment, pack and post your order, send the receipt and tracking emails, reply to you, and deal with returns, refunds and cancellations.
Order and technical records also help us recognise and stop fraudulent orders, and they form the books we must keep for tax and accounting.
Marketing email goes only to people who have asked for it.
3. Who Receives It
Your personal information is never sold by Velvara. Nor is it passed on for cross-context behavioural advertising, meaning ads aimed at you because of what you do on other sites.
A handful of service providers receive the part they need for a specific task and nothing more: Cloudflare, which hosts the site and stores product images; our order-management and payment providers; PayPal, when you pick PayPal at checkout; the email service that delivers order messages; and the carrier that brings your parcel.
We may also release information when the law obliges us to, when a valid legal request is made, or to protect customers and the shop from fraud. If the business were ever sold or merged, customer records would move to the new owner on the same terms as this policy.
4. Card Details
Your card number is handled by our payment processor, not by us. Velvara never stores the full number or the security code. Your order record may keep the last four digits, which is how you can tell which card paid.
5. Keeping It Safe
The whole site runs over HTTPS. Only the people who pack orders and answer support can open order records. No system can promise perfect security; if a breach ever touches your information, we will let you know.
6. Retention Periods
We retain order records for seven years, the period Hong Kong requires for business records. Support conversations are kept for up to three years after the last message. Server logs sit with our hosting provider for a short time under its own rules. Full card numbers are never retained by us at all.
7. Transfers Outside Hong Kong
VELVARA LIMITED operates from Hong Kong SAR, and the providers named in Section 3 work from the United States and elsewhere. That means your information may be moved to, stored and handled in Hong Kong SAR, in the United States, or in other countries. We choose providers that protect it with suitable safeguards, and we follow the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance of Hong Kong alongside the privacy law that covers you as a customer.
8. Your Rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Some records, such as orders kept for tax, may have to stay for the period the law sets.
If you live in California, the Do Not Sell or Share page sets out your additional rights. If you live in the EU or the UK, you may also object to processing and ask to receive your data in a portable format.
Send any request to support@velvaraliving.com. We may first check that the request really comes from you, and we answer within 30 days. Asking will never affect how we deal with you.
9. Cookies, Storage and Browser Signals
The site sets one essential cookie to protect checkout, and your cart is held in your browser's local storage. The Cookie Policy lists both. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, every optional category stays switched off.
10. Other Websites
Links to other places, such as a carrier's tracking page or PayPal, take you somewhere this policy does not reach. The privacy policy of that site applies there.
11. Children
Velvara is not aimed at children. Orders can only be placed by people aged 18 or over, and we do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone younger than 13. If you believe a child has given us their details, email support@velvaraliving.com and we will erase them.
12. Changes to This Policy
Any change to this policy updates the effective date shown above. Where a change alters how we use information already in our hands, we post a notice on the site before it applies.
